After feuding on public forums this summer, the Backstreet Boy reached out to his younger brother on Twitter to wish Aaron — and his twin sister Angel — a happy 30th birthday.
Aaron responded, “You’re an awesome person bro! I’m always in your corner.”
The siblings’ strained relationship came into the spotlight after Aaron was arrested on DUI and marijuana charges in Georgia in July. Nick wrote on Twitter, “To my brother: I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better. Family isn’t always easy, we’re all here for you.”
In response, Aaron slammed his brother, also taking to Twitter. He wrote, “If my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum?”

Later, Aaron claimed the feud is just “a lot of misconstrued behavior.”
“It’s hard to get along when you’re both doing the same thing,” he said in an interview with nationally syndicated radio program The Bert Show in August. “I have my own fans, Nick has his own fans. We’re good. Nick and I are good. I love my brother, and we’re good. There’s a lot of love there — don’t get it twisted.”

The former pop star — who continued to look healthy following his decision to re-enter rehab in October — spent Thanksgiving volunteering to help out Project Angel Food, a nonprofit agency that cooks and delivers meals to people who are affected by life-threatening illnesses.
After completing treatment last month, Carter also showed off his impressive 45-lb. weight gain on social media.
Meanwhile, Nick was accused of rape in November by former Dream singer Melissa Schuman. Schuman detailed the alleged incident on her personal blog earlier in the month, alleging that Carter had raped her when she was 18 and he was 22.
Carter responded to the allegations in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on Nov. 22.
“I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual. We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally,” the Backstreet Boy said.
“This is the first that I am hearing about these accusations, nearly two decades later. It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm.”
